This time we must not fail

Well people, this is rapidly becoming the most precious period in modern history. We are dying a slow but persistent death. Bush/Cheney are destroying our economic system at an alarming pace. Why do fail to notice that our politicians are complicit in this endeavor? Our Congress is corrupted, our people are unconcerned. Look at the fragility of not only our financial system, but also our social and educational institutions.

They are destroying not only the here and now, but the future and beyond. What is going to be left for our generations to come. The answer is emphatically nothing, nothing at all. It causes great shame for me that we have been asleep at the wheel for so long. It's not our children's fault that we have come to this point in our history, it's unequivocally our fault. Yes your generation and mine, the Baby Boomers, the wisdom of our time, lost in our own world of self aggrandizement. Having forgotten that what we spouted throughout the peace and love realization failed to manifest itself in consideration for your fellow human-beings.

Here now is the moment, we've elected a fellow member of this the generation of nurtured hope, love and devotion. We must connect, and maintain vigilance, noting his every move. Demand that he not only correct the oversight of the previous administrations, but that he also not succumb to the temptation of absolute power and the corruption that inevitably comes with it's possession. It's a tall order for those of us caught up in our own self indulgence, but it is a complete necessity for the continue of the greatest hope for all mankind.
